The Reutilization Of Waste Refractories Has Formed A Larger Scale.

The waste bricks in the production process of the original enterprise, the old bricks removed by the iron and steel factory, have been piled up there, occupying the place at the same time also polluted the environment. In recent years, the reuse of waste refractories has attracted more and more attention. More experts and scholars have participated in the reuse of waste refractories. However, one problem that can not be ignored is that there are many kinds of refractories. In the steel industry alone, there are more than 100 kinds of waste refractories. How to make better use of waste refractories? First of all, the chemical composition of refractories must be classified as follows:

(1) waste high alumina bricks (containing mullite and corundum bricks)

The waste high alumina brick can be processed into fine powder for producing refractory, and the granular material can be partly used for producing various high alumina refractory castables and plastics, such as castables for ladle cover and plastics for repairing. It can also produce environment-friendly porcelain casket.

(2) waste lightweight bricks

It can be used to produce light refractory castables and light insulation fire clay powder.

(3) refractory castables

Residual linings of refractory castables with corundum, mullite, silicon carbide and spinel as aggregates can be directly used to produce refractory ramming materials and refractory castables for comprehensive furnace construction after iron removal treatment. For example, the reclaimed castables for main channel of blast furnace can be added in the production of tamping materials for big ditch. Residual lining (70% added).

(4) waste magnesia carbon bricks

The recycled magnesia-carbon bricks can be fully utilized and added to the magnesia-carbon brick mixtures, such as those used on the free surface of the ladle slag line, at a ratio of 30% to 50%. The performance of recycled magnesia carbon bricks before and after recycling is greater than the standard. Therefore, the recovery and utilization of waste magnesia carbon bricks is entirely feasible.

(5) waste alumina magnesia carbon bricks

The waste magnesia carbon bricks can be appropriately added to produce alumina magnesia carbon bricks with the same material. The waste aluminium magnesia carbon brick can be broken into fine powder to produce refractory clay of the same material for masonry aluminium magnesia brick.

(6) waste aluminum silicon carbide brick

The scrap aluminium silicon carbide brick is broken into fine powder to produce refractory clay of the same material. The granular material used for masonry aluminium silicon carbide brick = broken can also be partly used to produce amorphous refractory of staggered silicon carbide, such as slag trench pouring material used in front of blast furnace, slag trench ramming material, slag iron trench cover and so on.

(7) waste magnesia brick and magnesia chrome brick

The waste magnesia brick and magnesia-chrome brick can be added to the raw materials of magnesia brick and magnesia-chrome brick properly after crushing, and can also be added to the raw materials of magnesia slag retaining weir plate properly, and can be processed into fine powder for producing refractory cement.

(8) waste ceramics and electric porcelain

The addition of refractories to waste ceramics can improve wear resistance, thermal shock stability, reduce material costs and reduce environmental pollution. Aluminum silicon castable has been developed for working temperature below 1100 C.

At present, the recycling and reuse of waste refractories have formed a large scale, in which waste iron ditch and waste magnesia-carbon brick have all been used. At the same time, we should strengthen the research on the utilization of waste high-grade refractories which have been replaced for a long time, and further explore other fields of waste refractories.
