Silicon Nitride Ceramics For Supercritical Industrial Boilers

- Sep 07, 2018 -

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially promulgated the Catalogue of Technology and Products Encouraging the Promotion and Application of Building Materials Industry (2018-2019 edition)

On June 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued a Bulletin - "Catalogue of Technology and Products Encouraging the Promotion and Application of Building Materials Industry", in which silicon nitride ceramics for supercritical industrial boilers were selected.

The main technical specifications of silicon nitride ceramics for supercritical industrial boilers are: 1) bending strength at room temperature (> 840 MPa); 2) strength (> 690 MPa) after thermal shock at 400 (> 5 times); 3) holding at 1200 (> 0.3 g cm - 2); 4) Rockwell hardness (> 93; 5) fracture toughness (> 7.8 MPa M 1 / 2).

The series of products can be densified by adding ultra-fine TiC and Ti nano-powder, introducing TiC precursor to realize surface modification of submicron silicon nitride ceramic powder, adjusting raw material gradation, designing special mold, dry-pressing-cold isostatic pressing combination molding technology and atmosphere pressure sintering, and achieving near-net size formation. The large size ceramic special-shaped insert does not need cold processing after sintering, which greatly reduces the manufacturing cost of the product. The series of products have been successfully used in many units. The coal consumption per unit power generation capacity of the supercritical boiler can be reduced to 300 g/kWh, the power generation efficiency can be raised from 38% to 41%, and the NOX emission per unit lean coal power generation can be reduced by 30%-45%. For the supercritical industrial boiler, the coal consumption can be reduced to 265 g/kWh, the power generation efficiency can be raised to 47%, and the NOX emission can be reduced by 30%-45%. The amount is reduced by 65%.
