The appearance of chromite looks very much like magnetite, which is generally a block or granular aggregate. As an additive for steel, ferrochrome alloy produces a variety of special steels with high strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance. Metal chromium is mainly used to smelt special alloys with elements such as cobalt, nickel and tungsten. Chromite is a shortage of minerals with low reserves and low yields. In the industry, ferrochrome, chrome spinel, chrome-rich spinel, hard chrome spinel and other similar minerals are often referred to as chromite.
